The spark that led me to apply to the University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia (UniSC) was realising the University had the most significant Futures program in the Southern Hemisphere, and the support team that goes with that.
I'm fortunate to have a diverse group of supervisors who bring futures, inter-disciplinary and political science backgrounds and experience to my research. Each are from the School of Law and Society at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Dr. Bussey is my lead supervisor and Co-ordinating Principal Investigator for data collection, Dr. Ashford is the Chief Investigator and Dr. Fishel is an Associate Investigator.
Dr. Marcus Bussey has a 35-year career as an educator and futurist. He is firmly committed to UniSC's aims of increasing research capacity and high-impact research. Marcus is a key member of the School of Law and Society, where he supports learning and teaching innovations and 'real world' and 'hands-on' experiences for Humanities students.
Theresa Ashford is a social science lecturer who embraces interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary borders. Dr. Asford's PhD used Actor-network theory to investigate the emergence of digital ethics in 1:1 classrooms and the role of technology mediating, supporting and translating human behaviour and understandings.
Dr. Fishel is a political science and international relations lecturer at UniSC. She received her PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 2011 and is the author of "The Microbial State: Global Thriving and the Body Politic" published in 2017. The book focuses on human bodies and their metaphorical and material link to global politics as a discipline and practise.
