My name is Richard MacGeorge, the Lead Researcher pursuing a part-time PhD in Futures Studies in the School of Law & Society at UniSC in Australia. I'm a New Zealander with infrastructure experience across 30 years and 40 countries, exploring how improved infrastructure planning might affect civilisation's future positively. I hope we can take these steps together.
My research addresses the premise that infrastructure strategy-making is rooted in the Neolithic period and new approaches are needed to better serve civilisation and our ecosystem in a fast changing world.
Three collaborator groups will hold workshops during 2023. Ultimately, the "NeoPlanners" will consider alternative approaches to infrastructure strategy development. The "Humanists" will look at human well-being, whereas "The Planeteers" will look at natural well-being as ways of considering how our built world can be shaped.
